Why Do Elite Goalies Juggle?

👁️

Hand-Eye Coordination

Track and catch shots with precision

Reaction Time

Shorten your response to incoming shots

👀

Peripheral Vision

See the ball and the players simultaneously

🤝

Bilateral Coordination

Stick hand + glove hand working together

🧠

Focus & Sharpness

Train mental awareness and concentration

🎯

Visual Processing

Track multiple moving objects at once

The best part? You can practice juggling every day without impacting your recovery from lacrosse training. It's pure coordination work with zero fatigue.

Here's What Happens Over 4 Days

Each day builds confidence fast. You will struggle, improve, and surprise yourself.

1

The Foundation

Master the one-ball toss and build proper form. Learn the athletic stance, the figure-8 arc pattern, and develop consistent height control. No juggling yet—just rock-solid fundamentals.

Goal: 50 clean tosses, alternating hands
2

Two-Ball Exchange

Time to coordinate both hands. You'll learn the timing of the exchange and when to release the second ball. This is where it starts to feel like juggling.

Goal: 5 consecutive two-ball exchanges
3

The Three-Ball Cascade

This is it. Three balls, one pattern. This is where most goalies quit. You won't. You're going to drop a LOT today—that's the point. By the end, you'll complete your first full juggling cycle.

Goal: 6 consecutive throws (one complete cycle)
4

Building Consistency

Now we level up. Focus on increasing your consecutive catches, finding your rhythm, and making juggling feel natural. Develop the bounce, own the pattern.

Goal: 15+ consecutive catches

By the end, you'll be juggling 3 balls consistently and have a warmup drill that D1 goalies use before every practice.

Common Questions

"Will juggling really help my goaltending?"

Yes. D1 goalies at programs like Duke, UNC, and Syracuse use juggling as a pre-practice warmup to activate hand-eye coordination and visual processing. Research shows juggling improves bilateral coordination (your stick hand and glove hand working together), reaction time, and peripheral vision—skills that directly transfer to tracking shots and making saves. It's not a gimmick. It's a proven training tool used by elite athletes across every sport.

"I have zero coordination. Can I really learn to juggle?"

Yes! That's what everyone thinks before they learn. If you can catch a lacrosse ball, you can learn to juggle. I'll walk you through it step by step, starting with just one ball. By Day 4, you'll surprise yourself.

"I don't have juggling balls..."

No problem. Use tennis balls, lacrosse balls, or even balled-up socks. Any 3 objects that are roughly the same size and weight will work perfectly.

"How much time does this really take?"

15 minutes per day for 4 days. That's one episode of a TV show. You can practice while listening to music, watching TV, or between sets at the gym. It's not physically demanding—just coordination work.

"What if I can't make one of the days?"

No worries. All videos will be available on the course page so you can catch up or rewatch anytime. Just do your best to stay on pace with the group for maximum accountability.

"Is this really free?"

Yes. Completely free. No hidden costs, no credit card required. I just want to help lacrosse goalies learn this valuable skill.

"When does the challenge start?"

Registration opens Friday, January 23rd. The challenge starts Tuesday, January 27th, and runs through Friday, January 30th.
