It’s not too often that you see a five-year starting goaltender at an elite Division 1 NCAA school.

Syracuse All-American Asa Goldstock is one of the rare examples of a goaltender who was able to achieve such a feat.

By the end of her collegiate career, Goldstock held the record as Syracuse’s all-time leader in saves (663). Narrowly surpassing another Syracuse legend in goal Liz Hogan.

In her final season with the Orange, Asa was named to both the NCAA and ACC All-Tournament Teams leading Syracuse to the National Championship title game in 2021 against the Boston College Eagles.

Prior to joining the Orange, the Niskayuna, NY native was a 2016 US Lacrosse All-American and led New Hampton School (New Hampshire) to back-to-back Lakes Region championships.

In 2021, Asa has embarked on a new chapter in her lacrosse career. She was hired as an assistant coach for Lindsey Munday’s USC Women’s Lacrosse team where she will be coaching the Trojans’ defense and goalies.

For me when I watch Asa play the first word that comes to mind is “swagger” and we discuss her playing style and how she built up that level of confidence.

Asa joins the Lax Goalie Rat show to discuss her development in the goal, playing for legendary head coach Gary Gait, what it means to her to be a gay athlete in the lacrosse, coaching at USC, meditation, and much more!
