Most collegiate programs carry 3 to 4 goalies max. This season Coach T and the Denver Pioneers had 7 goalies on the roster.
Junior Jack Thompson beat everyone out and just finished a stellar sophomore season where he was 2nd team All Big East (behind goalie of the year Owen McElroy).
I remember seeing a picture of Jack Thompson when I was doing my college stick setup post this year. There’s no way this kid isn’t coached by Ryan LaPlante, I thought to myself. Indeed he was.
Thompson has worked with LaPlante and Trevor Tierney with Goalie Evolution Academy and now continues to help coach youth goalies as well.
Jack joins the podcast to discuss his path to D1 lacrosse, his training regiment, beating out 6 goalies, and what its like to be coached by a legend in Coach Bill Tierney.
