On today’s Lax Goalie Rat Podcast episode, I sit down to chat with Class of 2024 goalie at Farmingdale HS Jimmy Caputo.
Jimmy is heading into his junior year of high school at Farmingdale, an important year for any goalie aspiring to play at the next level.
As of September 1, goalies like Jimmy can now speak with college coaches and choose where they wish to play.
The Long Island native has certainly been putting in a lot of work in trying to achieve his dream.
A true student of the game, Jimmy has spent countless hours working on his craft and attending showcases and prospect days all over the east coast to get an idea of where his game is at.
Caputo even took home the James C. Metzger Award given to the most valuable player of the Long Island Lacrosse Showcase in 2021.
Caputo brings a boatload of energy and passion into the goalie position and the game of lacrosse. He definitely has a bright future ahead of him.
Jimmy isn’t the only stand-out goalie from Farmingdale High School though. Recent PLL Champion with the Waterdogs, Matt Deluca also played for the Dalers during his high school days.
Caputo credits DeLuca for a lot of his development as a goalie during his early years.
