Learning about JUCO Lacrosse with Cam Cordova – LGR 194

This Episode Is Brought To You By:

My guest on today’s episode of the Lax Goalie Rat podcast is Goalie at Onondaga CC, Cameron Cordova.

I first heard of Cameron when he did this awesome mic’d up video that I then turned into a reel for my Instagram page.

Cameron is heading into his sophomore year at OCC and is looking to compete to earn a spot as the starting netminder with the Lazers this season.

Cameron hales from Meridian, ID and got his start playing goal in the 4th grade after his coach sold him on the highs of playing the position.

Cordova quickly was hooked and ended up developing into a pretty solid goalie thanks to his work with Ryan Laplante and Trevor Tierney at the Goalie Evolution Academy.

Cameron had a few D2 & D3 offers coming out of high school. But he knew that he wanted to see if he could do better and if he could get to a high level.

He chose Onondaga because they offered him an opportunity to compete and play for a team with such a great reputation and championship-caliber program.

In his first season with the Lazers, Cameron served as a backup but did see some action.

He finished the season with a 5.66 GAA and .658 save percentage in 137:50 minutes played during his freshman season.

I hope you enjoy this episode with Cameron Cordova where we discuss topics like developing leadership skills, why go the JUCO route, and the importance of taking care of your mental health.
