My favorite female goalie right now is Caylee Waters. I got to see UNC win the ACC in Blacksburg VA last year
Awesome! She’s a great goalie! Thanks for sharing Eva.
what’s the difference in stick lengths for girl goalies?
Hi Sue! Not sure I follow the question. What advantages does a short shaft have vs. a longer shaft?
Yes- we are still pretty new in LAX, and I hadn’t seen anyone with different shaft lengths, so I was wondering about it.
Now my little one is also wanting to be goalie for her U-11 team, and they are using mini heads [fiddlesticks?], with short shafts, because they are little and can’t manage the full sized heads yet.
I wrote a full post about shaft length for goalies. Check that one out.
Thanks for providing the woman’s goalie stick setups. Are the sticks each goalie uses a direct result of school sponsorship?
Pretty sure they are. STX sponsored schools have their choice of STX heads – Eclipse, Shield, etc. so sponsorship limits options.
If the school is sponsored by STX, then they get any STX heads for free, but if they really like the Eraser, they can still use it, but they have to pay for it.
Thanks for that clarification Ryan.
i think the Colorado goalie is killing it this year
Would you happen to have any advice on stringing an eclipse with 12d ss hero mesh?
I know this post is a little old now but Megan Taylor is defiantly my favorite goalie right now. Also, do you have a recommended shaft? I’m looking to buy a new one but I can’t decide. I currently use the ECD Carbon.
That’s great! I’ll be creating a 2018 version of this post in the near future. In terms of shaft I really like the StringKing Metal 2. Check it out.
