Northwestern and Team USA Goalie Madison Doucette – LGR Episode 113

Listen on Apple Podcast

The Northwestern women’s lacrosse team has one of the most prolific offenses in the sport. With girls like Izzy Scane and Lauren Gilbert the Wildcat’s offense average 20 goals per game in 2021.

Going up against that level of competition on a daily basis in practice has been a great thing for Senior goalie Madison Doucette.

As Madison prepares for her upcoming senior year at Northwestern, she joins the podcast to discuss her path to get to this point. Her mindset, her beginning, the way she thinks about goalie.

That path included a gold medal with the U19 USA women’s team that won the 2019 World Championship played in Ontario, Canada.

That path also included coming out as a gay athlete in her well written story at USA Lax Magazine about following your path.

“I field any and all questions they shoot my way. They may be silly, even uncomfortable, but anything that normalizes queerness is worth the conversation” says Madison.

Don’t worry, I only ask her one silly question about the topic.

Please enjoy this interview with Northwestern senior goalie Madison Doucette.
