James Madison goalie Molly Dougherty sure got her collegiate career started strong.
In 2018 as a redshirt freshman the young goalie lead the Dukes to a national championship victory narrowly beating out Boston College 16-15.
Molly now prepares to enter her senior season carrying a pretty lofty set of accomplishments already including two-time Honorable Mention All-American (2019, 2020) and the 2019 CAA Goalkeeper of the Year.
She currently ranks eighth all-time at JMU in career goals against average (8.83), ninth in saves (337) and 10th in save percentage (.504). Dougherty has compiled a 34-5 career record in goal (.872). She has twice played with Team USA, having competed at both the 2018 IWLCA President’s Cup in Florida and the 2019 Spring Premiere at Stanford.
She joins me on the podcast to discuss her development as a goalie, her time at James Madison, and her experiences playing with Team USA.
