On this week of the Lax Goalie Rat podcast, I am joined by a high school sophomore and North Carolina native Jackson Runkle.
Growing up and playing youth lacrosse Jackson never played goalie until he joined a new team in middle school and his coach asked if any other players would like to step up and take the 3rd goalie spot on the team. Having played soccer goalie previously Jackson reached at the opportunity and decided to take it.
While Jackson may have had some ups and downs in his time as a goalie he always found a way to overcome the bumps whether it was playing with a stance not very suitable for his height, getting a later start to his goalie career, or being a perfectionist in the cage.
On this episode of the podcast Jackson preaches the ways of the goldfish mentality and sometimes just being able to forget one part so you can move on and make the next save.
