Zoe Inglis is proof that perseverance and passion can take you far.
Growing up in Connecticut, where lacrosse wasn’t widely played, she started in a house league and only joined a high school team her senior year. From there, she forged her path to Division I lacrosse, starting at Merrimack and now competing for Boston University.
In this episode, Inglis reflects on her first collegiate start—a full 60 minutes against Boston University while at Merrimack. It was a “full-circle moment,” as she now plays alongside some of the players she faced that day. She shares the challenges of earning her teammates’ trust as a freshman and stresses the importance of leading by example and staying composed under pressure.
Inglis dives into the mental challenges of being a goalie, discussing how she overcame self-doubt and learned to “flush” negativity. Her approach emphasizes building trust with her defense, being a calming presence, and staying adaptable through setbacks.

She also gained professional experience through an internship that combined her love of lacrosse with hands-on projects like preparing for a goalie summit.
