Lax Goalie Rat Book Launch!
It’s game day for Lax Goalie Rat.
Today I launch my eBook – The Lax Goalie Bible: The Complete Guide to Coaching and Playing Lacrosse Goalie.
Go get the ebook here – Lacrosse Goalie Book.
Why Did I Write this Book?
When you join the LaxGoalieRat email list it automatically sends you back a question:
What is the element of your goalie game you’re struggling with the most?
When I first started this site in 2015 I thought the audience would be all current goalies looking for tips or trying to solve a hole in their game. And a bunch of current goalies did indeed start responding.
But then as more and more people joined the list, something unexpected happened…
Email after email came pouring in…but not from lacrosse goalies. It was from:
- lacrosse goalie parents who know nothing about lacrosse.
- youth lacrosse coaches who played college lacrosse but knew nothing about the goalie position or how to train their goalie.
- a sports Dad just trying to understand the position to bond with his kid.
- new goalie coaches themselves looking for advice on how to develop elite lacrosse goalies.
This book is for you.
It’s a complete guide on how to coach and how to be an elite lacrosse goalie.
My goal with this ebook is that after reading it you feel confident that you could train a championship caliber goalie with no prior knowledge of the sport of lacrosse.
My editor (aka my Mom) read the book and sent me this text:
Wow! Great work on this book Damon! I think it’s super clear and organized well. I feel like I now understand how to play goalie.
Her only lax experience is on the sideline of my games, so I feel pretty good about that.
Learn the Best Method to Teach Goalies
A goalie must be a master of all 3 elements of goalie play to be elite –
I call this the elite lacrosse goalie triad and in this book we explore how to improve in each area – technical, physical, and mental – so your goalie can dominate the crease.
I provide the theory and then illustrated drills and practice plans so you can train a goalie to become great in all 3 elements.
This book is the simplest method I know to learn the position and more importantly, it’s presented in the most logical order.
Bonuses Before Friday!
If you buy a copy of the Lax Goalie Bible before Friday, I’m going to include a FREE bonus.
A few weekends ago I went out and filmed a bunch of training videos in Berkeley, CA with some current goalies and members of Cal’s team (who are currently 8-0 and the #2 seed in the MCLA, Go Bears!).
I’ve edited together a 3 part mini-camp video series that I’m including FREE with the purchase a book.
This mini camp covers:
- Lacrosse Goalie Stance
- Lacrosse Goalies Arcs
- The Basic Save Movement
Again, they are yours for free if you purchase the book before Friday. After Friday, these videos will NOT be available.
So be sure to pickup the book before Friday – The Lax Goalie Bible: The Complete Guide to Coaching and Playing Lacrosse Goalie.
Giving Back
One of the elements of lacrosse culture is giving back to the game.
That’s why so many former lacrosse athletes like myself choose to continue coaching, refereeing, or helping out in some way so that more and more people can experience the joy of lacrosse.
As a form of giving back and growing the game, 10% of all sales of this book will be used to purchase and transport gear to a Latin American country to crecer el juego (grow the game, if you will).
If you have additional equipment you can donate, please contact me – [email protected].
I look forward to buying equipment with proceeds from the book and delivering it on a trip.
Thank You!
Finally, a big thank you to all the Lax Goalie Rat readers. Whether you purchase the book or not, your support has kept this site going strong.
I love getting emails from parents letting me know they taught their little goalie something they read in a post of mine and it helped them make more saves.
Please keep the support coming and I promise to keep helping out the best position in the game – the goalies!
Once again, visit this page to get a copy of the book – Lacrosse Goalie Book.
Forever grateful! Coach Damon
