Bailey has been playing lacrosse since the first grade or coming up on 10 years. She started playing goalie in the 3rd grade after begging her coach to let her play net. She didn’t have a lot of skill at the time but had a ton of fun doing it.
Once Bailey entered the 5th grade she began focusing on playing in goal full time after making her club team as the netminder.
Bailey loves that being the goalie gives her the ability to carry the weight of the team when having a great game. Like when her team played against St. John’s this past season. She made a big save in the last few minutes of the game and then cleared the ball to an open teammate who ran the ball down the field and scored to win the game.
Growing up in Maryland, Bailey is a huge fan of Terp’s goalie legends like Meg Taylor and Lax Goalie Rat sponsored athlete Emily Sterling, but she also admires the play of UNC goalie Taylor Moreno. As a smaller goalie herself, Bailey would watch Meg play games and would then emulate the same movements when she would jump in the net.
Bailey’s goal is to play college lacrosse one day and has been hard at work trying to make that happen. She mentioned on the show how she has been using a recruiter to help her stay on track and find the right school for her.
