Entering the 2020 lacrosse season the North Carolina Tar Heels were supposed to have the goalie position locked up.
Goalie Caton Johnson was voted the ACC Freshman of the Year in 2019 and was returning for his sophomore season as a preseason All-American vote.
However Long Island native Collin Krieg was so impressive he earned the starting job for the Tar Heel team. And as we watched Krieg play in the 2020 season it was pretty clear why. The dude is a baller.
Krieg played his high school ball at Ward Melville on Long Island and he joins the podcast this week to discuss his career in goal and all the training and hard work that has led him to the point where he’s at today.
Collin led UNC to a trip to 2020 semifinals where they lost to the eventual champ Virginia.
As Collin prepares for only his second season of college lacrosse we discuss what his preparation efforts look like this summer.
Krieg shares his style of goalie play, his penchant for dancing in the cage, his grand return to social media and his pregame rituals.
Enjoy this conversation with stud goalie Collin Krieg.
Lacrosse is my passion! The game has given me so much and this blog is my way of giving back to the lax community. Specifically the most bad a$$ part of that community - the goalies! After learning to play goalie from scratch, I wanted to create a site where I could share what I learned with others so they too can become champions in the crease and in life. Learn more about Coach Damon.
